The series targets 4-8 year olds, and is based on research that identifies these early years as the optimum time for children to learn to read, and to adopt positive reading habits, skills and attitudes. Airs Monday-Friday @ 2pm (30 min) IT'S A BIG BIG WORLD An innovative preschool series venturing deep into the rainforest, high atop the world, to the tallest tree - the World Tree - home to a diverse group of animals and the program's metaphor for the world as a whole. Also tells the story of FDR's courtship of his distant cousin, Eleanor Roosevelt, and their troubled marriage. The second part begins with Roosevelts' bout with polio and follows his relentless struggle to rehabilitate his body and political career. Part 1 airs Mon., May 12 @ 8pm (2hrs.) Part 2 airs Mon., May 19 @ 8pm (2hrs.) NOVA "A Walk to Beautiful" A story of hope and survival in contemporary Ethiopia. Tells the story of three women suffereing from devastating childbirth injuries. NOVA follows each of them on their journey to a special hospital in Addis Ababa where they find solace for the first time in years, and stays with them as their lives begin to change.
