WSEC/PBS Springfield’s Cardia: Hearts and Sciences Gets Emmy Nomination
WSEC/PBS Springfield’s program "Cardia...Hearts and Sciences" has been nominated for a Regional Emmy in the Mid-America Region of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences in the Interview/Discussion category.
This program featured host Mark McDonald and Dr. Gregory Mishkel interviewing Dr. Jeffrey P. Christy as he performs heart by-pass and ablation surgery. The premise of the health-oriented program was to create a dialogue with local health experts around heart health issues and procedures during an in-studio Q&A session, featuring questions from viewers around central Illinois.
“We’re extremely proud of this locally produced series,” said Network Knowledge President and CEO Dr. Jerold Greubel. “This isn’t our station’s first Emmy nomination for locally produced programming, but the honor is always a humbling reminder of the great work our team does.”
The award ceremony takes place on October 1 in Branson, Missouri.
