Austin City Limits Celebrates 40 Years

On Friday, October 4th at 8:00 pm, Austin City Limits kicks off it's 40th anniversary with a two-hour special featuring musicians like Sheryl Crow, Jeff Bridges, and more. On Saturday the 5th at 11:00 pm, Beck opens the new season performing songs new and old.

Illinois Stories: LIVE on 9/11

On Thursday, September 11th from 6:30-10 PM, Illinois Stories Producer and Host Mark McDonald will be sharing some of his recent favorite episodes during a live pledge event. He will be joined by guest host Keith Bradbury.

During the event, viewers are encouraged to call in at 217-483-7887 and pledge support for this program that shares the stories of west central Illinois.

Emmy Wins for PBS Programming

MASTERPIECE has been honored by the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences in the 2014 Primetime Emmy® Awards, with wins and nominations for Sherlock and Downton Abbey. Sherlock received the most Emmy Awards of any television program (including the Creative Arts Emmy Awards, handed out August 16, 2014.)

"Sherlock delivers! Big audiences, great reviews, and now the hardware," says MASTERPIECE Executive producer Rebecca Eaton. "We're so happy for 'the boys,' and for Sue and Beryl Vertue and all our gifted colleagues at Hartswood, the BBC, and PBS."

"We are still reeling from Sherlock's success, and the joy it has brought so many! We came out to LA thinking we would take nothing home but the memory of a great night -- to have won seven Emmys in total is something none of us will ever forget," said Sherlock co-creator and writer Steven Moffat.

Network Knowledge Celebrates 30 Years

This year marks the 30th anniversary of Network Knowledge. From its beginning, the organization has worked tirelessly to provide high quality educational material and programming to the people of west central Illinois. This year also marks Illinois Stories 1000th episode and a legacy of over 10 years producing programs that highlight the people and places of central Illinois.

Continued public support helps keep the organization alive. Without it, programs like Downton Abbey, Sherlock, and Curious George would be lost. Please consider joining us in celebration this year by becoming a member and pledging your support.

New on Tuesdays in July:

Time Scanners takes a cutting edge look at history through "reading" buildings and structures from the past at 7 pm.
History Detectives: Special Investigations dives into famous stories from history and take a second look at what really happened at 8 pm.
Endeavour Season 2 continues with Endeavour Morse pursuing justice on Sundays at 8 pm.

PBS Kids to Add New Half-Hour Sesame Street Program

Extending the reach of the iconic series produced by Sesame Workshop, the new bonus program will air in addition to the hour-long SESAME STREET, starting Monday, September 1, 2014, on PBS KIDS.

Furthering a commitment to using the power of media to educate and entertain America’s children, PBS KIDS and SESAME STREET will introduce a bonus half-hour program this fall on-air and on digital platforms. Starting Monday, September 1, the additional half-hour program will air on weekday afternoons on PBS stations, complementing the one-hour series that airs weekday mornings (check local listings). For the first time, selected full episodes of the 30-minute show will also be available for free online at, on the PBS KIDS Video App and on the PBS KIDS Roku channel. By offering this bonus half hour of SESAME STREET in an additional timeslot and through a growing number of digital services, PBS KIDS hopes to reach even more children with one of America’s most beloved and educationally powerful children’s series.
