WSEC/PBS Springfield donates Illinois Stories DVD set to Jacksonville Public Library
WSEC/PBS Springfield donated a set of Illinois Stories DVDs to the Jacksonville Public Library on Friday June 18th, 2010 in honor of Jacksonville resident Beverly Ware of Wareco Service Inc. JPL Library Director Sharon Zuiderveld was on hand to accept the gift presented by Network Knowledge President and CEO, Dr. Jerry Gruebel. Also present were honoree, Beverly Ware (pictured), Jacksonville Chamber of Commerce Executive Director and WSEC/PBS board member Ginny Fanning, Grojean Realty and Insurance Agency realtor and WSEC/PBS board member Teri Ware and WSEC/PBS board member Cathy Randall.
The set included 31 different Illinois Stories programs that highlight the Jacksonville area. Some of the topics include the Illinois School for the Deaf, Woodland Farms and Camp Courage.

WSEC Fourth of July Celebration 2010
WSEC/PBS Springfield hosted its annual Fourth of July Celebration at the Pasfield House Inn, 525. S. Pasfield St., in Springfield. Festivities began at 6:30PM, and included a holiday buffet of all beef hot dogs, roasted corn on the cob, watermelon, iced tea and lemonade. A cash bar was also available. Special events included viewing of the fireworks over the capitol grounds at dusk, a tour of the historic Pasfield House Inn and a presentation of Springfield downtown history given by innkeeper, Tony Leone. Parking was free right across College Street. Special thanks to Tony Leone and staff and everyone who attended this year. Proceeds from this event support this public television station.

The 14th Annual WSEC Golf Scramble 2010
The 14th Annual WSEC Golf Scramble was held at the Rail Golf Course in Springfield. This event was sponsored by Abraham Lincoln Capital Airport. Lunch was provided by Subway, and dinner was provided by County Market. We would like to thank all who participated and volunteered their time. This year's golf scramble raised over $17,000 in support of the children's educational programming on WSEC/PBS.

"Illinois Stories Bus Tour"
Illinois Stories host Mark McDonald revisits some of the sites where his favorite Illinois Stories were shot. This one day bus trip departs from Quincy on Wednesday, May 26, at 9:00AM. We'll tour sites in Quincy, Ursa, Carthage, Colchester and Golden. These stops focus on our agricultural heritage, architecture and historical landmarks. The entire day, including transportation, admissions, tours and lunch costs only $60. This tour is currently sold out. Please check back in the fall when we will plan to host another bus tour.

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES
Network Knowledge has a variety of opportunities for our members, viewers and the general public to have fun, meet people and get involved. Throughout the year, this station hosts several special events such as our Fun Time Stations, the golf scramble and local pledge drives which all help to support quality, educational programming for all citizens of west central Illinois and northeast Missouri.
