What we're reading this month:

Dinosaur Train by John Steven Gurney

Preschooler Jesse thinks about, dreams of and lives for two things:  dinosaurs and trains.  One night, he hears a loud noise and feels the house shake, and, with the cry of "All Aboard!", the boy finds himself embarking on an exciting train ride with all sorts of dinosaurs.  This book is sure to spark many requests for bedtime repetitions!

One Stuck Duck by Phyllis Root

"Down by the marsh, by the sleepy, slimy march, one duck gets stuck in the muck."  Who comes to the rescue?  "Two fish, splishing, for starters.  It takes a whole lot of teamwork to get this particular stuck duck unstuck.  This mucky ducky counting book will inspire children to count as they listen to the story and add up all the fun.

 Poor Puppy by Nick Bruel

This sequel to the popular alphabet book "Bad Kitty" (and certainly one of our favorites) is a fantastic counting book.  Poor puppy romps with an ascending number of toys, from 1 airplane to 26 zoo aminals, but cannot seem to get Kitty to play.  Children will laugh out loud at the puppy's antics and the very sly Kitty.
