Beginning September 12, Network Knowledge will begin expanding its broadcasting hours.
Thanks to viewer support and gradual increases in fundraising efforts over the past several months, the station has been able to add back morning children’s programming on PBS Kids as well as some of its evening programs, like Charlie Rose. The station intends to sign on at 8:00 a.m. and sign off at 11:00 p.m. across the board, seven days a week.
The additional three hours in programming airtime have come as a response to numerous pledges and letters from local viewers who have shown their support for the station and expressed their desire to see these programs back on Network Knowledge.
However, the station still has a long way to go in regard to sustainability. “We hope for the day we can return to our full program schedule,” said Dr. Jerold Gruebel, President and CEO of Network Knowledge, “But for that to happen, we’ll need continued support from our viewers.”
