WQEC/PBS QUINCY HOSTS DOWNTON ABBEY EVENT

DECEMBER 4, 2015, QUINCY, IL – WQEC/PBS Quincy will host a pre-screening of the premiere of Downton Abbey’s sixth and final season on Dec.10, 2015 at the Quincy Museum, which begins at 6:00 pm. Gardner Denver, Inc. has generously agreed to sponsor the event in support of high-quality programming along with a community service grant from the Corporation for Public Broadcasting (CPB).
The event is open to public, but seating is limited, so attendees will need to make an additional membership gift of $5 or more to reserve a seat. Or if a guest is not already a member, a membership of at least $5 gets you a reservation for this very special event. Membership pledges are requested as a small investment in your local PBS station.

Attendees will preview 45-minutes of Season 6, the last season for Downton Abbey, the most viewed drama ever on PBS. WQEC/ PBS Quincy, will begin broadcasting Season 6 on Sunday, January 3rd at 8:00 pm. There are nine programs in this last series.
“We’re very proud of this program, which has won more than 48 awards and received 168 nominations over its five season span thus far,” Dr. Gruebel, the station’s President and CEO said. “We’ll be sad to see it end, but know that this event will make for a great sendoff for such a beloved program.”
