The bus will depart from the Network Knowledge headquarters building at 1475 E. Plummer Blvd., Chatham at 8:30 a.m. on Thursday, October 22, 2015, and return around 5:00 p.m. Please park in the Network Knowledge parking lot, the WSEC parking spaces just across from the headquarters, or the parking lot to the west.
The bus trip will include stops at the following interesting sites:
• The Illinois Raptor Center in Decatur where their new facilities allow them to rehabilitate and care for dozens of big birds of prey, including eagles, falcons and owls
• The Rock Springs Nature Center, where we will get a tour of the Nature Center, the Wildlife Window, the Heritage Garden and the Pioneer Home. Those willing and able can take a guided hike on the nature trail.
• Lunch at Allerton Park, where the mid-day food is acclaimed.
• A tour of the mansion at Allerton Park and tours of the formal gardens and sculpture gardens. Allerton Park’s size and beauty require the full afternoon.
The cost is $60.00 per person. This includes all admissions, tours and lunch. Past bus trips have sold out quickly, so you might want to send in your reservation as soon as possible. Please call MJ at 800/232-3605, ext. 222 to make your reservation with a credit card, or mail your check and information to: On the Road With Illinois Stories Bus Trip, Attn: MJ Bates, PO Box 6248, Springfield, IL 62708.
